About the Clinic
What makes HBR different from other med spas in the Spring / Houston area?
HBR operates under the Medical Directorship of Dr. Derek Lou M.D., a plastic surgeon. That’s the short answer. The longer answer is that having a surgeon on the team changes the standard every protocol is held to — in terms of anatomy understanding, product selection, and what counts as a safe outcome. Most med spas do not have a plastic surgeon involved at that level.
Who performs the treatments?
Injectable treatments are performed by Janet Siddiqi RN, our Senior Injector and co-founder. Janet is a Registered Nurse who qualified in England and completed her boards in the US. She has over 30 years of clinical nursing experience. Laser treatments and skin treatments are carried out by our trained aesthetician Julie Caballero. All protocols are supervised by Medical Director Dr. Derek Lou M.D.
Do you take walk-ins?
We primarily operate by appointment to ensure each patient receives the consultation time they deserve. Walk-ins are occasionally possible subject to availability — call (281) 323–4848 before coming in.
Where are you located?
HBR MedSpa is at 417H Gentry St, Spring, TX 77373 — convenient for patients coming from The Woodlands, Tomball, Humble, and north Houston.
Injectables
How long does Botox last?
For most patients, Botox and Dysport results last 3 to 4 months. First-time patients or those with strong muscle activity may find results taper closer to 3 months; with regular maintenance, the interval often lengthens. We include a complimentary 2-week check-in for all neuromodulator patients.
Will I look frozen or unnatural?
No. Our approach is explicitly conservative and expression-led. Janet’s philosophy — shaped by Dr. Lou’s surgical perspective on facial dynamics — is that you should still look like yourself after treatment. Just rested and refreshed. Overdone results happen when practitioners chase volume or units over outcome. We don’t do that.
What filler brands do you use?
We use Juvéderm Volbella and Voluma (Allergan), which are FDA-cleared hyaluronic acid fillers. These are manufacturer-sourced, single-use, sealed products. We do not purchase grey-market product. You can ask to see the packaging before it is opened.
Is filler reversible?
Hyaluronic acid filler is reversible using hyaluronidase. This is not routine — the goal is to place filler correctly the first time — but in the unlikely event of a complication or an outcome a patient is unhappy with, it is a clinical option available to us. This is another reason why M.D. oversight matters.
Laser & Skin
Are laser treatments safe for darker skin tones?
This depends entirely on the laser technology and the settings used. At HBR, every laser protocol is calibrated to the patient’s Fitzpatrick skin type before treatment. Dr. Lou’s M.D. oversight ensures the risk profile is properly assessed. We will advise honestly during consultation if a particular treatment is not appropriate for your skin type.
How many RF microneedling sessions will I need?
Most patients see optimal results with a series of 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions once or twice per year help preserve collagen density over time. A single session can show noticeable improvement but the full benefit of the collagen cascade develops over weeks after each treatment.
What is a skin booster and how is it different from filler?
Skin boosters use small amounts of very soft hyaluronic acid injected superficially throughout the skin (rather than deposited in specific anatomical layers). The goal is not volume — it’s hydration, elasticity, and skin quality. Patients describe skin boosters as making their skin look like “better skin” rather than “filled skin.” They pair well with neuromodulators and are popular as a maintenance treatment.
